We went for my Son's Birthday Brunch in February 2019. This is a Black Owned Restaurant in their 2nd location on 200 E Plume Street, Downtown Norfolk. The food is really good. It's Southern Comfort Food with Killer BRUNCH! I had the fried catfish, greens and mac & cheese...AWESOME! Someone else had the Chicken & Waffles and another had the French Combo Breakfast. We had Cranberry Mimosas by the pitcher (yum!) I loved the liveliness of this place. It's a College Vibe & Local Favorite. This is NOT your quite Sunday afternoon brunch spot!! There's a Parking Garage directly across the street behind the Hilton Hotel (The Main). We will definitely be coming back. Note to Owner: Please post Yoolks On Us, Norfolk Location on Google Maps.

Less than 5 minutes to be seated, drinks came fast. Food was a bit of a wait, around 15 minutes. The food is well worth the wait, especially the bacon. Yoolks Pancake Combo was delicious, pancakes tasted amazing. Wish they still had chocolate since it was a cold day but they ran out. Oh well..

Food was pretty good. I ordered breakfast stuff (pancakes, eggs, potatoes). My husband didn’t like his food at all but he got a burger. Service was slow. Could have been better but don’t see any reason not to give it another chance.

We tried this place hoping for some southern style fish n grits and unfortunately were disappointed. The coffee and staff were great but the food was flavorless. Ironically when we were seated my partner noticed that the salt was low in the shaker and rationalized that maybe it hadn’t been refilled. Not true. The fish and grits can be ordered with flounder or catfish and we both selected flounder, fried hard. Our fish came out oily and soggy and flavorless. I’m not kidding. Not old bay. Not salt or pepper. Nothing. I tried to salt it and the grits and the eggs. I kept shaking hot sauce on it but sadly nothing helped. We were going to just pay for it instead of sending it back but our when our waitress asked how we liked the food we were honest and she told the manager. The manager (maybe the owner idk) sat down with us and explained that they used to season more but people complained that it was over seasoned. In an effort to accommodate people they changed their preparation methods. I guess you can’t please everyone. Ultimately she adjusted our check and that thanked us for our feedback.
